Cat In A Box.

I put a box upon the floor
Then I turned my back.
It only took a minute
Now I can't find my cat.

Now my box is heavy
It took me by surprise.
I'll leave it for a moment
What can be inside?

Time Machine

Stacks Image 38354
I built myself a time machine,
I always knew I could.
I made it from a cardboard box,
Because I had no wood.

Will I travel back in time,
What will the future hold?
I jumped inside my time machine,
And switched on the controls.

I made some sounds with my mouth,
A hum and then a beep!
It sounded like a time machine,
But then I fell asleep.

I woke up in the future,
At least it seemed that way.
But it was just the morning,
The very next day.

A Bear! A Bear!

Stacks Image 38335
A bear, a bear, is over there,
Take care, take care, he might be scared.
He sniffs, he stares, he smells the air,
He looks so big he makes me scared,
I hope that bear stays over there.

Should I Share A Secret?

Stacks Image 38319
Should I share a secret?
I think it all depends.
If it sounds like gossip,
I shouldn’t tell a friend.

But if I'm told not to tell,
Because the thing is bad.
I think I’ll share that secret,
With my Mom or Dad.

Shadow The Dog

Stacks Image 38399
There once was a dog called shadow,
His eyes were big they were brown.
Shadow was only two years old,
He was sad on his face was a frown.

He lived in a house in a city,
His house was nice it was good.
Sometimes he’d go in the backyard,
Sometimes walk the whole neighborhood.

One cloudy night, the dog got a fright,
He couldn’t get back in his house.
It was cold out that night and there was no light,
Shadow felt cold and alone.

He ran around the backyard,
He barked and yelped. “Let me in!”
But the house was dark and quiet,
His owner was out, looking for him.

Now shadow is fine, ‘cause after some time,
His owner at last came home.
They hugged really tight and promised that night,
To never go out on their own.

Don’t Be Silly

Stacks Image 38329
Are there bugs that live on the moon?
Can July come before June?
Can the sun ever feel cold?
"Don't be silly" I'm often told.

Why can't we live under the sea?
The creatures there seem so happy.
Why does cheese look like gold?
"Don't be silly" I'm often told.

So why are things the way they are?
Has it always been, right from the start?
Will Mickey Mouse ever get old?
"Don't be silly" I'm often told.

So in good time I know I’ll grow,
And I will learn, this I know.
I'll ask my questions and be bold,
"And that's not silly" I'll be told.

Scratch The Tiger

Stacks Image 38342

There once was a baby tiger,
His stripes were orange and black.
His name was Scratch and he was sad,
There was something the tiger lacked.

He had no friends, he felt alone,
And he lived in a jungle so big.
Sometimes it seemed so scary,
So Scratch the tiger just hid.

There was lots to eat, so he didn’t compete,
With the other tigers there.
Scratch would hide, and close his eyes,
And pretend that he didn’t care.

Scratch wanted to play in the jungle,
To have a good friend would be great.
Then he started to smile as he realized,
He was making a big mistake.

If he hid everyday, then how could he play?
Nobody knew he was there.
So he shouted “Hi!” And said. “Here am I.”
And now he has friends everywhere.

The Lost Dinosaur.

dinosaur poem
There once was a great big dinosaur,
His neck was long and green.
He lived in a hot green jungle,
So the dinosaur could't be seen.

One day he started walking,
He walked far from his home.
He didn't know just where he was,
He was lost and all alone.

He could't be seen because he was green,
Just like the green jungle trees.
His friends looked around but he couldn't be found,
Oh! Where could the dinosaur be?

The dinosaur was angry,
He stretched his neck and he roared.
Then he looked down and started to smile,
At something he saw on the floor.

He saw his own tracks and started to laugh,
He knew now how to get home.
He followed his tracks all the way back,
And said . "Next time I'll take my cell phone.”

The Thirsty Dog

Bella the dog was happy,
Bella the dog was brown.
She lived in a house that was pretty,
Just on the outskirts of town.

One day when she was playing,
Running around her house,
She got so hot and thirsty,
Her tongue hung from her mouth.

Bella the dog, felt really hot,
She wanted some water to drink.
She looked everywhere, her nose sniffed the air,
Then she lay on the floor just to think.

There must be water somewhere,
Her mouth it felt so dry.
Bella had an idea,
She thought she’d give it a try.

Bella she tried, and jumped really high,
Into the big kitchen sink.
She turned on the tap and started to lap,
Now she has water to drink.

The Hungry Hippo.

hungry hippo image
The Hungry Hippo.

There once was a hippo that lived in the jungle,
He'd get so hungry his tummy would rumble.
It sounded so loud the ground it would shake,
All of the animals shouted "It's an earthquake!"

The hippo felt silly he started to blush,
He thought he would hide inside a bush.
But there was no room not one branch to spare,
All of the animals had beaten him there.

"Go!" Said the monkey. "Yes leave." Hissed the snake,
"You can't hide in here you're to big to take."
"Jump in the lake you know that's your home."
The monkey he laughed. "Yes leave us alone."

The hippo explained they'd made a mistake,
"The rumble's my tummy, it's not an earthquake."
The animals were mean and they started to mock,
They laughed at the hippo and they wouldn't stop.

The hippo was sad what could he do?
The monkey suggested some food he should chew.
The hippo he smiled it all became clear,
If he wasn't hungry, no rumbles to hear.

So he opened his mouth and took a big bite,
Of the bush with the animals, they all got a fright.
They all ran away and hid where they could,
They'd learned a lesson and now they'd be good.

So now when the hippo starts to feel hungry,
The animals are kind, just like they should be.
They all share the food they find in the jungle,
And the hippo's big tummy it no longer rumbles.

Big Eared Bunny.

Pink Bunny image
There once was a big eared bunny,
The bunny had very pink fur.
She liked to play piano,
She was quiet and a good little girl.

She lived on a farm in the country,
She wanted to be a rock star.
But how could a small quiet bunny,
Be famous and go really far.

She had an idea, to make people cheer,
She dressed like a cat and she she barked.
She looked very strange, that’s how she found fame,
As she played and sang like a lark.

She’s now a famous bunny,
Her fans they call her Dog-Cat.
She’s been ‘round the world performing,
Now the bunny she just wants to nap.

She went back to the farm where things were calm,
She had all the things she desired,
She thought fame was fine, but now is the time,
To relax and maybe retire.
